Reader reacts to expanded alcohol proposal

A reference to the past as we look to the future. In 1966 I crossed the Mississippi into Louisiana for the first time, the mission being to develop Louisiana for my company.
After traveling the state for six months and viewing a varied representation of small- and medium-sized towns and with the persuasion of Johnny Maxwell and Ben James, Callie and I decided to move to the shining town on the hill of Ruston.

In our selection process, we were looking for a town with a university, being influenced by the town in Alabama I grew up in, Opelika, Alabama, adjacent to Auburn University.
