The “Lane Train” was running full steam, but the Cedar Creek Cougars still ended up being derailed Friday night at St. Frederick High School.

A scoring strike from Warriors quarterback Andy Williams to wide receiver Pat Johnson pushed their lead to eight points with 8:10 remaining and the St. Frederick defense took control from there to hold on for a 21-13 home win over Cedar Creek.

St. Frederick moved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in District 2-1A while Cedar Creek fell to 3-4 and 2-2 in district play.
