Bearcats rally to take down Trojans

ALEXANDRIA — In a game of two halves, Ruston won the most important Friday night at Alexandria Senior High’s at J.L. “Butch” Stoker Stadium.

The Bearcats overcame a nine-point halftime deficit and shut out the Trojans in the second half en route to a 40-28 win in District 2-5A action.

Ruston moved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in district play while ASH is now 6-2 and 1-2.

The Bearcats struck first on a 26-yard field goal by Caleb Phillips midway through the first quarter, but the Trojans quickly countered on a Rashone McNeal four-yard touchdown run to put ASH up 7-5.
