It is difficult to think that DART has now been a part of our community for 25 years, but it is true!

We will be remembering different parts of our journey throughout this year, but in this column I will talk about our origins: why we were formed and how we began.

When the Ruston Mayor’s Commission for Women was formed by Mayor Elton Pody, one of the issues that this group of women, led by Dr. Marty Beasley, decided to address was domestic violence.
