Mary Lynn Briley Kessler

Mary Lynn Briley Kessler, 74, passed away July 18, 2020 at home from heart/lung complications. A celebration of her life was held on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Homer, LA. Anyone wishing to join in to Lynn’s Celebration of Life but are unable to attend may watch the service on Facebook @: FUMC HOMER.

Lynn, as she was most familiarly known, was born July 3, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA. She and her husband, Don Kessler, were married in Tustin, CA on May 8, 1965. They moved to Ruston, LA in 1981 where she continued her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse for several years before retiring to care, fulltime, for her aged parents. She always considered her primary life role was being a loving wife, mother to two children, and nurturer to five grandchildren.Lynn was preceded in death by her brother, Philip, and her parents, Philip W. Briley and Mary Jane Barnes Briley.

Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald D. Kessler, and two adored children, Michael Kessler, and daughter, Lisa Kessler Fell (husband, Patrick Fell), and five precious grandchildren,Corey Kessler (wife, Erica), Brittany Kessler Shelton (husband, Jesse), Colden Fell, Tyler Fell (wife, Tess), and Jacob Fell, and her two sisters Julie Spaulding of Ruston, LA, and Lisa Briley Saville of Monument, CO (husband, Steve), along with numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wesley Chapel UMC, Homer, LA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
