James (Jim) Young, Jr., 91, of Arcadia, LA, died on March 7, 2019 in Ruston, LA.Memorial services celebrating the life of Jim Young will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Rest Baptist Church, Dubach, LA, where he was a member. Officiating the service will be Dr. Randy Ray.He was born on September 1, 1927 in Columbia, LA to James Otho Young, Sr. and Mary Reitzell. Jim worked for 35 years with Halliburton Oil Services, retiring in 1985 as District Manager of the Industrial Cleaning Division in Dubai. He didn't like retirement, so he went into a partnership helping create the start-up company Consolidated Pressure Control (CPC) in Houston, TX. He served as the Quality Control Manager. Finally he accepted retirement in 2010 while living in Conroe, TX. In 2012, Jim moved to Arcadia, LA to live near his son, Joe Young.Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Verda Young and Stella Young; step-daughter, Sandi Hroch; and step-son, Mark Hroch. Survivors are sons James (Joe) O. Young III, wife Martha in Arcadia, LA and Rodney O. Young and wife Sharla of St. Amant, LA; step-son, Randy Hroch, wife Deborah of New Braunfels, TX; step-daughter, Kim Inderwiesen, husband Paul of Houston, TX; daughter-in law, Sherri Hroch of Houston, TX.; 14 grandchildren, Kathy, Tiffanie, Brittanie, Josh, Matt, Jacob, Justin, Sarah, Chase, Russell, Michael, Ryan ,Craig, and Chelsea; and 20 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, P.O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA 71211; www.lbch.org; for a new recreation center.
