WEST MONROE – The Louisiana Rural Water Association is planning a blitz of the Sparta Aquifer region this summer in hopes of determining how much water is really used in the 16-parish area.

Information from the survey will help identify areas of concern and assist with curtailing water loss, Pat Credeur, LRWA’s executive director, told the Sparta Ground Water Commission on Wednesday.

“What they’re compiling for us will give us rate knowledge and use knowledge,” Lindsay Gouedy, the commission’s executive director, said.
