It could have been a lot worse.

That’s the assessment of local officials, first responders and the National Weather Service in the wake of Saturday’s storm that pummeled the area with hail, straight-line winds and up to 5 inches of rainfall on already saturated ground.

Though the storm downed trees, flooded roads and damaged several structures, no injuries were reported, Kip Franklin, Lincoln Parish director of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, said Monday.
