Richard Wayne Howard

Richard Wayne Howard, age 77, died November 23, 2020, at his Mineral Springs home.

He was predeceased by his parents, R.D. “Bill” and Violet Howard, two sisters: Hazel and Julia Beth, three brothers: Bob, Thomas, and Billy, and one son, Jonathan.

He is survived by his son Joey of Mineral Springs; his daughter Linsey of West Monroe, two granddaughters: Kylie and Sydney, a month old great-granddaughter, Avery, all of Mineral Springs; his sister Linda Frazier of Ruston; and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne retired from Ardagh Glass after 30+ years. Prior to developing mobility problems, he enjoyed fishing, gardening with his son, and making pickles and relish. Until he was hospitalized, Wayne continued to solve the world’s problems with his twice-daily coffee group. After weeks in the hospital, Wayne was relieved to come home where he could sit in his wheelchair on the front porch to watch the birds, squirrels, and deer. He had a last visit with treasured friends and family, thus he was able to die in peace.

Memorials may be made to the Mineral Springs Baptist Church building fund or a charity of your choice.

Due to Covid concerns, there will be no service. The family will spread his ashes on the farm, his “happy place,” at a later date.
