“Mama D” Helen Corine Aulds Davis, a beloved lifetime resident of Choudrant, Louisiana, was received into Heaven’s glory while sleeping peacefully in her home on January 30.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Choudrant Memorial Cemetery in Choudrant, LA. A visitation was held from 9 until 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Choudrant, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.

Although her vivacious presence will be terribly missed by those left behind, we celebrate that she is with Jesus Christ surrounded by those who preceded her in death: her husband-Odis Davis, her two daughters — Patsy Phillips and Martha Pee, one grandson — Rusty Bell, and one great-grandson — Cory Otwell.

Those of us who remain cherish the many happy memories. We are eternally grateful for the opportunity to have known and lived around such a matriarch. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law—Carol and Bobby Mizell, son-in-law — Fred Pee, sister-Ophelia Tatum, seven grandchildren: Karen Otwell, Denise Trahan, Chris Brown, Donna Sasser, Lisa Weaver, Kim Mizell, and Marti Hubbard. She was blessed with 20 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, and two greatgreat-great grandchildren! She was adored by her community and will affectionately be remembered as “Mama D” by former friends of First Baptist Church in Choudrant. She will be remembered by former clients of her businesses (White’s Auto of Ruston and Otasco of Choudrant), as a generous, gregarious, fun-loving, people-person.

Her family will remember her as a prankster, straight forward, hospitable, leader of her family. When “Mama D” spoke, everybody listened!

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhome.com.
