Max Curtis Johnston

Services for Max Curtis Johnston will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2021, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with Brother David Shaw officiating.

Graveside services will be held at New Hope Cemetery in Choudrant at 3 p.m. The family requests visitation be held Monday, September 13, 2021, at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Johnston, 91, of Alexandria, passed from this life Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

Max was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech in 1951. Max worked as the District Conservationist for the Department of Agriculture for 30-plus years. He received numerous awards and recognitions during his tenure including the Louisiana Distin guished Civilian Service Medal in 1999.

Max was a board member on the Rapides Soil and Water Conservation and Gravity Drainage Boards at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Johnston; parents, Robert Andrew and Lillian Patterson Johnston; and brother, Robert Johnston.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Victor Johnston and wife Carla, Sandy Grantham and husband Michael W., Tracy Max Johnston and wife Amy, and Michelle Wroten and husband Greg; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Grantham, Sara Johnston Middleton,

Matthew Johnston, Andrew Johnston, Katelyn Wroten, William Wroten, Connor Johnston; and three greatgrandchildren, Lillian Middleton, Gabriel Middleton and Everly Johnston; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
