Robert Pye

Funeral services honoring the life of Robert Harvey Pye, age 33, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston with Rev. James Pepmiller and Pastor Thomas Ussery officiating.  Burial will follow at Kilpatrick Memorial Gardens in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, October 11, 2021 at Owens Memorial Chapel.

Robert was born on August 13, 1988 in Monroe and passed away at Glenwood Medical Center surrounded by his family on October 8, 2021 after a short illness.  

Robert was a 2006 graduate of Sterlington High School and attended Louisiana Tech University.  Robert was a founding member of the Theta Phi Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at Louisiana Tech University.  He was employed by Mott-McDonald as a piping designer in the oil and gas industry.  Robert’s greatest joy was being Uncle Pye to his precious nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his Papaw, Wilson Boyte, his Mamaw, Virgie Boyte, his grandmother, Kathleen Pye, and his uncle, Donnis Boyte.

Robert is survived by his parents, Jerry and Ruby Pye of Ruston; two sisters: Crystal and  husband Jesse Mathes and Karen and husband Jessie Tubbs, all of Sterlington; nieces and nephews: Ashlyn Mathes, Reed Mathes, Thomas Tubbs and Payton Tubbs; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Burroughs, Bradley McCallister, Sam Stocker, Dr. Brad Anders, Todd Zachary, Wes Gonzales, and Trey Yeates.  Honorary pallbearers will be his fraternity brothers in the Theta Phi Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi.
