Bobbie Lois Kelly Bland
Bobbie Lois Kelly Bland, 92, of Conroe, Texas (formerly Arkadelphia, Ark.) passed from this life on October 15, 2021, at her residence.
She was born July 22, 1929, in Choudrant, the daughter of William Grady Kelly and Virginia Gregory Kelly.
Bobbie received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and a master’s degree from East Texas State University.
She was a retired school teacher from Amarillo (Texas) Independent School District and an active tree farmer.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women and Arkadelphia Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She volunteered to play both piano and organ at several area Methodist churches for many years.
Bobbie was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, John Edward Bland, Jr.
She is survived by her brother, William Grady Kelly, Jr. of Monroe; brother-in-law, James Ross Bland (JoAnn) of Kenner,; son, John Edward Bland, III (Melinda) of Laguna Vista, Texas; daughter, Virginia Ann Bland of Baton Rouge; daughter, Martha Bland Foerster (Larry) of Conroe, Texas; son, Richard Kelly Bland (Brenda) of Lindale, Texas; nine grandchildren, Jenny Hodnett (Jason), Kelly Howerton (David), Dr. Ross Bland (Lorena), Lindsay Shary (Conor), Emily Dominey (Barkley), Daniel Foerster, Kevin Bland, Jessica Bland, and John Bland; and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be on Saturday, November 27, at First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia, Ark., at 1 p.m. Graveside will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Carthage, Ark.
