Betty Britt Lee
Betty Britt Lee, 87, passed away peacefully July 22, 2021. Betty was born November 28, 1933 in Hico, Louisiana, to Marvin Albert Britt and Eva Templeton Britt.
Betty grew up in Minden, and graduated from Minden High School in 1951. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in fine arts and education from Louisiana Tech. Betty was an accomplished artist and taught art at Ruston High School for over 20 years.
Upon retiring from teaching in 1996 she moved to Baton Rouge shortly thereafter where she was an active member of the Baton Rouge art community.
Betty loved her family dearly and especially loved family gathers. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
Betty is survived by two sons and two daughters, Milford “Mike” Wampold III (Kimberly), Marvin Britt Wampold, Eden Elizabeth Mitchell (Jeffrey), Juliana Lee Diaz (Raul); nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; a sister, Dianne Britt Adkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral home on Government Street, in Baton Rouge, from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday July 31, followed by a brief service at 11 a.m.
The family wishes to thank the Baton Rouge General Hospital and Hospice of Baton Rouge and her caregivers for their dedication and compassionate service over the past several months.
