Betty Ruth Taylor Ober

Funeral services for Betty Ruth Taylor Ober, 89 of Bernice, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Bernice with Bro. Michael McIntosh officiating.

Interment will follow at Bernice City Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Betty was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bernice. Betty served as the church hostess for many years. She greatly enjoyed her family and friends, rose gardening, golfing and cooking. She was known for her gift of sewing. She was a member of the Bernice Garden club.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; Buford Taylor and Inez Butler Taylor, husband; Ed Ober. Left to cherish her memory, daughters; Cynthia (Cindy) Thomas of Bernice, Melissa (Missy) and husband Eddie Permenter of Arcadia; grandchildren: Chasten Veatch and husband Jeff of Ruston, Brent Ford and wife Jimmie of Shreveport, LA and Nick Summer of Boulder, CO and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Brent Ford, Richard Jenkins, Ronnie Jenkins, Donny Lee, Nick Summers and Jeff Veatch.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Bernice.
