Beulah Brown Laster

Beulah Brown Laster passed peacefully from this earth Nov. 8, 2019, from natural causes and possibly sheer exhaustion of using every single gift God gave her.

For a little girl from a small town in North Louisiana she sure cut a pretty broad path through this old world and lived a richer, fuller, life than anyone could have ever anticipated.

Beulah was born Jan. 7, 1940, to Audrey Cook Abrams and David Herbert Brown in Monroe, LA. She graduated from Bossier High School and then went on to live a life only few could have imagined. She married the love of her life, Howard in 1959. They went on to have four children: Cynthia Lois, Stephen Howard, Lori Carol, and Pamela Michele.

Mrs. Beulah or Mrs. B as she was affectionately know, was an artist, a florist, a restaurateur, a visionary home builder, and the founder of Ruston Community Men’s Shed. But more than any of those things, she was a person that loved people. Meeting Mrs. B was often life changing for those that she touched. She was a friend others could always turn to for wise counsel, compassion and championing.

Beulah was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, daughters Cynthia and Lori. She is survived by son Stephen, daughter Pam Cardella and husband Charles, grandson Christopher Morgan and wife Wendi, grandson Casey Morgan and Alexia Perrson, granddaughter Nicole Laster Leonhart and husband Roger, grandson Tyler Laster, and the absolute light of her life; Great granddaughter Haley Paige Morgan.

She is also survived by her beloved Cook Cousins and a community of friends she considered extended family.

Rather than mourn her passing she would want us to celebrate her life well lived with random acts of kindness, in the hope that they in turn, would be conveyed to others.

A Celebration of Life for Beulah will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019. at her home — Windsong Acres, 1742 West Kentucky Ave., Ruston, LA.

Visitation will be held from 5 -7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston.

Rather than sending flowers, the family and Mrs. Beulah would be most honored if you would make a donation to Ruston Community Men’s Shed, Post Office Box 2031, Ruston, LA 71273.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
