Blaise Cosentino
A celebration of the life of Blaise P. Cosentino of Ruston will take place on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 2 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ruston.
Blaise was born December 16, 1936, in New Orleans, and passed away July 10, 2021, in Ruston at the age of 84.
After graduating from Francis T. Nicholls High in New Orleans he joined the United States Air Force serving his country in radar maintenance at sites in Near Bay, Washington and Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada.
Following discharge he earned a degree in history at the University of New Orleans and later a Masters at LSU in Baton Rouge.
After retiring from his job with the New Orleans Passport Agency he continued to engage in many of his lifelong passions and interests. Among them Egyptology, mathematics, astronomy, coin and stamp collecting, American Flyer trains, Gilbert Erector, and love of cats.
Blaise was preceded in death by his parents, Biaggio and Mary Schroder; and Charles (Charlie) Cosentino.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gene Mullen Cosentino of Ruston; sons, John Andrew Cosentino and wife, Travis of New Orleans; grandson, Viggo Alexander; brothers, Richard and wife, Lynda of Hammond; Gerald and wife, Patricia of Slidell.
Final Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s#1 Cemetery in New Orleans at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
