Carroll Bailey, 91, of Ruston, passed away peacefully at his home on September 20, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Carroll was born on June 6, 1933, in Ruston, to Ellis and Rosa Lee Bailey. Carroll was a longtime member of the Ruston Church of God and more recently Crosspoint Community Church of the Nazarene.

Funeral services for Carroll were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Rev. Dr. John Martin and Rev. Jack Busby officiated the services. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Interment followed the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston.

Carroll graduated from Ruston High School in 1951 and enjoyed attending his high school reunions and visiting with former classmates. He attended LSU and Louisiana Tech University and served honorably in the United States Army from 1955-57. Carroll was a longtime Jeweler in Ruston, working alongside his father, Ellis, and his brotherin- law, Kenneth Selle, at his father’s jewelry store, Bailey Jeweler. Carroll continued to run Bailey Jeweler after his father’s passing and also worked in the jewelry department at Walmart before retiring.

Carroll met Mattie “Dale” Hart in 1964, and they were married in 1966. They made their home in Ruston and enjoyed raising their four children, whom he loved very much. In his later years, Carroll enjoyed his daily visits to the Lincoln Parish Library and visiting with friends at various stores in downtown Ruston. He was a very kind and patient man and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Rosa Lee Bailey; sisters, Virginia Selle and Marjorie Parkman; and brother, Billy Joe Bailey.

Carroll is survived by his loving wife Dale Bailey; daughters, Amy Karmarsic Butler (Robert) of Simsboro, Laura Ann Fleming (Craig) of Harvest, Alabama; sons, David Ellis Bailey of Ruston, and Bradley Lee Bailey (Nicole) of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren, Joanna Baldwin (Jason) of Tucson, AZ; Kenneth Joseph Karmarsic of Church Point, LA; David Allen and Alicia Butler of Simsboro, LA; Abigail, Justin, and Jeremy Fleming of Harvest, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Jade, Jupiter, and Jericho Baldwin of Tucson, Arizona; nieces, Sandra Bice Richardson, Janet Whitten and Susan Cagnolatti; nephew, Geff Forrester and numerous cousins.
