Funeral services for Cass Nealy, age 49 of Ruston will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug DeGraffenried, Rev. Juliette Spencer and Rev. Rolly Walker officiating.
Interment will follow in Kilpatrick Memorial Gardens in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Affectionately known by all as Cass. He was born on May 24, 1971, to Dicky and Marcia Nealy in Ruston, LA, and left this world suddenly to be with our awesome God on January 27, 2021.
Cass as a child and as a man was full of energy! His personality was contagious to everyone he met. During his last days, he was surrounded by cherished loved ones who will continue to honor his memory by living their lives with the utmost faith and life to the fullest.
Cass was a self-employed entrepreneur who never met a stranger. If you needed anything, Cass was going to try to provide it. A selfless man who found great pride in helping others. A father first and foremost, the most loving husband a wife could ever dream for in a partner, and a compassionate brother and son.
To his family and all who knew him, he was one of your most cherished relationships. A genuine man who saw through the darkness and valued the life and light and goodness in all people.
Cass was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Joe Griffin and wife Christine; paternal grandparents: O.F. (Dick) Nealy and wife Jonny Ruth.
Cass is survived by his wife: Lori Hunt Nealy; daughters: Taylor Nealy, Ella Nealy; step-daughter: Jessi McIntosh; step-son: Huff McIntosh; parents: Dicky Nealy and wife Marcia; sister: Shelly Nealy; niece: Abby Edgerton; nephew: Win Edgerton; uncle and aunt: Gerry Click and wife Debbie; in-laws: Janie Hood, Glen Hunt and wife Cindy; sister-in-law: Lucie Hunt; and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Click, Greg Garcia, Clay Hipp, Jesse Roberts, Ben Christmas, Lee Denny, Heath Hightower, Seth Hightower, Jered Ramsey and Kevin McNabb. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard O’Neal Clark, Ober Lopez and Josh Rabb.
Visitation was held from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA. In lieu of flowers please make all donations to the United Way.
