Hazel King Watts
Graveside services will be held for Hazel King Watts, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May12, 2020, at Alabama Cemetery. Bro. Taff Watts will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia.Hazel was born September 15, 1923 in Lincoln Parish to B.J.R. and Edith Daniel King. She entered into rest on May 8, 2020 in Arcadia, Louisiana. Hazel worked for 20 plus years as a LPN, starting her career later in life. She also was an artist, which she started the same time as becoming a nurse. She won several awards for her artwork and painted well into her 80’s. Hazel loved life. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and even remodeled homes. Hazel was a member of Alabama Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the WMU. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be greatly missed by all.Hazel is preceded in death by her husband Estill Watts, brothers; Garland, Wilson, and Nelson King, and by sisters; Frances King, Annie B. King, Lucille Holley Peoples, Virgie Anglin, and Margie Watts.She is survived by her children; Carolyn Choate and Steven Watts, grandchildren; Michelle Brown and husband Tim, Heather Wyatt and husband Jason, Taff Watts and wife Heather, Jake Watts and wife Katie, Jason Espeseth and wife Jenny, Andrew Espeseth and wife NA, Kelly Espeseth, Stephanie Stevens, and Jarrad Mobley, by great grandchildren; Haley Caraway, Allison Brown, Landon Franks, Carson Pickett, Katelyn Wyatt, Maggie Watts, Gracie Watts, Michael Watts, Jane Espeseth, Joel Espeseth, Nolan Espeseth, and Parker Self, great-great granddaughter Harper Caraway, and by numerous other loving nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in her honor to the Monroe Baptist Children’s Home or a local food bank.
