Jack Layne Parnell

CHOUDRANT Graveside services for Jack Layne Parnell, 89, of Choudrant, LA, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Sibley Cemetery in Choudrant, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. The Rev. Bill Sanderson will officiate.

Jack was born on April 2, 1930, in Choudrant, LA, and passed away on March 7, 2020, in League City, TX, surrounded by his daughter and grandsons.

Jack was a graduate of Choudrant High School and Business School. He served in the United States National Guard 1949-1961. Jack began his career at United Gas Pipeline in Shreveport, LA, and retired from United Gas Pipeline in Houston, TX, in 1986. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandsons.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Olga Humphries Parnell and father, Algie Morton Parnell; his sister, Maudie Mae Sanderson; and brothers, Clinton Parnell, James Parnell, and Ray Parnell. Survivors are his daughter, Patricia Layne Parnell Dresner of League City, TX; grandsons, Sterling Forbes Dresner and Austin Stuart Dresner of Seabrook, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
