Jimmy Lee Wilson

Obituary of Jimmy Lee Wilson, 79 years old, was called to be with the Lord on Friday, June 2, 2023. He was born in Ruston, to the union of Allen Wilson, Sr., and Bertha Lee Wilson.

After decades of moving east, Jimmy always embraced his southern roots and later returned to Louisiana. While on the east coast, Jimmy helped keep communities safe and served 28 years as a dedicated correction officer for the New York City Department of Correction.

Jimmy was an active member of Mt. Olive Outreach Baptist Church in Grambling and had a passion for traveling and sports. He loved walking in the park on sunny days and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Allen Wilson, Sr. and Bertha Lee Wilson; his brothers, Allen Wilson, Jr., Rodell Warmsley, Roosevelt Warmsley, Jr., Louis Wilson, John Wilson; and sister, Renee Mitchell Stroman.

Jimmy leaves the following loved ones to cherish his memories; sons, Roderick McNeal, Gregory Garner, Craig Wilson; daughters, Karen Wilson, Stephanie Tillerson, Pamela Savior, Felicia Thompson, Hope Wilson, La-Tonja Wilson, Sheniqua McLeod, Shawntia Salomon, Jannae Wilson; sister, Ruthie Long; and a host of loving grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 16, from 3-6 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at King’s Funeral Home in Ruston.
