John Warren Sylvest

Funeral services for John Warren Sylvest, 39, will be 2 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2023, in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, in Ruston. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time.

John was born on April 28, 1983, to John and Diana Sylvest, in Baton Rouge. He passed from this life on January 2, 2023, following an extended illness. He was a Police Officer for Louisiana Tech University, of Ruston, and was a Member of Signa Pi Fraternity.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Truman and Diana Stubbs Sylvest.

John is survived by his sister, Lauren Sylvest of Lafayette; his fiancé, Kasey McConnaughey; and stepson, Camden McConnaughey of Ruston.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Louisiana Law Enforcement Memorial Fund.
