Laura Lea Overton Farrar
Laura Lea Overton Farrar, 89, went to be with our Lord and Savior June 1, 2022 at her home in Bradenton Florida, where she and her husband had moved in 2018 to be near her children. Laura was born October 6, 1932, in West Monroe. At 19 years of age, she married Harry Farrar, her husband of 71 years, and they traveled for 20 years in the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force in 1973, they moved back to Ruston where they founded Ruston Trophies and Locksmith, until their second retirement in 2000. Laura and Harry continued their love of traveling to 33 countries, plus riding on their Honda Gold Wing to all 50 states, all of the Canadian Provinces, and to the Panama Canal. Laura was an active Republican, VFW and American Legion member for many years. She enjoyed helping in her church and her community.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Overton. She is survived by her husband, Harry; sons, Harry Farrar, Jr. (Suzanne) of Palma Sola FL; Gary Farrar (Diana) of Ft. Lauderdale FL; daughters, Brenda Kauppinen (Paul) of Lake Worth FL; and Linda Warnat of Columbus MS. Grandchildren include Brandon Ringo, Cameron Ringo, Erica Warnat, Tyler Warnat, and Rachel Runyan.
