Linda Lee White
Linda Lee White, 77, of Ruston, passed away May 13, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
Linda was born in Ruston, on June 20, 1945, to parents Carl Lee and Bertha King Lee. Linda grew up and lived her entire life in Ruston and the surrounding area.
She graduated from Ruston High School in May of 1963. Two months before graduation she married the love of her life, David Brooks White. She spent the next years of her life working full-time to provide for her family while raising three sons. After the birth of her third child, Linda decided to expand her education by enrolling at Louisiana Tech University.
She received her Associate of Science in Business Technology in 1979. After spending several years working in the insurance industry, she went to work for the City of Ruston as an office manager in the Public Works Department. She retired from the City of Ruston after more than 26 years of dedicated service. Linda was a loving mother and a devoted wife who always made time for family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, David Brooks White; their son, David Keith White; grandson, Christopher David White; parents, Carl and Bertha Lee; brothers, Gerald Lee and Wayne Lee; brotherin- law, James McCray; sisters-in-law, Barbara Lee and Brenda Van Vugt; nieces, Cindy Lee and Suzy Murphy; and nephews, Keagan Lee, Steven McCray and Chad Van Vugt-McGovern.
Linda is survived by her children, Allen White of Ruston, and Kevin White and wife Elizabeth of Shreveport; siblings, Betty McCray of Marietta, Georgia, Randy Lee and wife Gloria of Golden Valley, Minnesota and Tommy Lee and wife Karen of Mountain View, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Libby Lee of Bossier City; stepgranddaughter, Angelle Meche of Iota; nephews, Cody Lee and wife Sara Jane of Mountain View, Arkansas, Michael McCray of Marietta, Georgia and Jerry Lee of Bossier City; nieces, Penny Lee Branch and husband David of Ruston, Kayla Lee McIntire and husband Jesse of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Heather Sanders and husband James of Marietta, Georgia; and beloved great-nieces, great-nephews and extended relatives and friends.
A special thanks to Linda’s caregivers, Mae Williams, Katherine Thomas and Clara Moore for the patience, compassion and kindness shown during difficult times.
Thank you as well to the nurses and staff at Premier Hospice for the comfort and support we needed over the last few months of her life.
The visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from noon to 1 p.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at 1:30 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery in Ruston.
