Major Eric Keith Jackson
A memorial service honoring the life of Major Eric Keith Jackson will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at King’s Funeral Home, B.E. King Chapel, 1511 W. California Ave. Ruston.
Major Jackson was a 1978 graduate of Grambling High School and was the pride of his family and local community when he was accepted into the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., in 1979. He graduated from the academy in 1983, earning the B.S. Degree in Applied Science and Engineering.
He received the M.B.A. Degree in International Business from the National University, in San Diego, and the M.P.A. Degree in Community Development Venture Capital from Harvard University. He was a Major in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as Leader/Logistician/Project Manager; Director of Various International Officers’ Courses for the Naval Amphibious School; Master Instructor in the Economics Department and Chairman of the Faculty Forum for the U.S. Naval Academy.
After returning to North Louisiana he was the owner and Managing Director of Duncan Jackson, LLC, a transportation services company. During his academic and professional careers, Major Jackson received numerous honors, awards, and commendations. In all of his academic and occupational endeavors, he focused on serving others, utilizing his free time to volunteer with city governments and other community projects.
Major Jackson entered eternal rest on December 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father, former Lincoln Parish Sheriff Deputy Clifton H. Jackson; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory his loving and devoted mother, Revell Duncan Lathan Jackson; his brother, Paul G. Lathan, Jr. (Evon); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
