Mary Claire Smith
Mary Claire Smith passed away on October 20, 2020 at the age of 57.
Her life will be celebrated at a future date by her family and many friends.
Mary Claire was born on February 1, 1963, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is preceded in death by her father, William C. Smith.
Those loved ones left to cherish her memory include her mother, Mary Sus Smith, brother, Tommy Smith and wife Trish Smith, nephews Christopher Smith and wife Shelia, Nathan Hooper and wife Jessie, niece, Anna Smith,nephew-in-love Zachary Mire and great nephews Dawson and Sawyer.
She was a 1981 graduate of Cedar Creek High School, and went on to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Louisiana Tech University.
She never met a stranger and had wonderful and far reaching circle of friends. er joie de vie was reflected in her love of art, film, travel, fine food, festive music and a good story. She thought life was a celebration and she was the biggest fan, cheerleader and true supporter of all those who knew and loved her.
Mary Claire faced many medical challenges over the years but she always met them with grace, strength and optimism.
Ever loyal to her mother, Mary Claire would always ensure that the nursing home staff kept Mary Sue’s hair done, bird feeders filled and her snack drawer fully stocked. The family is extremely grateful to doctor Ben Grigsby and team of incredible doctors and nurses at Glenwood Regional Medical Center to include doctors Latuso, Murray, Boersma and Norman along with nurses Carly, Aulbani and Donna.
Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither will there be mourning nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
