Mary Gail Williams

Memorial visitation for Mary Gail Williams, age 77 of Ruston, will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021, at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Mary was born on April 7, 1943 to H.B. and Eleine Holdridge and passed away on February 2, 2021 in Ruston, LA.

Mary grew up in West Texas where she met Gerald Wayne Williams. Shortly after they married, they moved to Louisiana for a job that opened up for Gerald.

They remained in Louisiana where they raised a family of four boys as well as providing a home for several other children along the way. Mary had very many interested but was probably best known for her political acumen. She managed dozens of campaigns over the last forty years and was very good at it. Mary also spent many years as a member of the Ruston Lion’s Club whose cause was dear to her heart.

A note from the family, “Mom was an extremely dynamic soul with interested that covered the entire spectrum. She was a great crafter, avid antique collector, sassy fashionista, incredible cook and could read the thickest novel in one evening. Most of all, she was a great mom.”

Mary is survived by her sons: David, Rocky, Monte and Rip; as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
