A Celebration of Life Service for Mary Mc-Mahon Richardson will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the Burkhalter Chapel at Trinity Methodist of Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug de Graffenried officiating.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. in the Burkhalter Chapel of Trinity Methodist of Ruston.

Mary McMahon Richardson was born on May 25, 1932, in Madison, Tennessee, and passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023, in Ruston. She was the wife of the late Lacy Stinson and Joe Richardson, both of Ruston.

Mary was born to the late John and Frankie Jo McMahon in Madison, Tennessee. After graduating from Du-Pont High School, Mary looked to the sky and moved west to Dallas. There, she became a stewardess for American Airlines and flew in DC-3s primarily to Mexico City and New York.

In Dallas she met and soon married Ruston native Lacy Stinson, and had two sons, Kerry and Kyle. Following Lacy’s tragic automobile accident, she moved to Ruston to raise her boys. Once in Ruston, she met a classmate of Lacy’s, Joe Richardson, whom she soon married and had two more boys, Trey and Mark.

Mary enjoyed a 20year career at Louisiana Tech in the Athletic Department. She had many longtime friends through Tech, Trinity, as well as special family friends.

Mary was a member of the Junior Guild, Senior Circle, and enjoyed all the Senior activities at Trinity.

She enjoyed being outside in her yard, attending to any plant that flowered. She also spent many mornings playing bridge with friends. GranMary deeply loved her grandchildren and recently was thrilled to welcome Jack, her only great grandchild.

She is survived by her son Kerry and wife Kim of Hallsville, Texas, and son Mark and wife Susan of Ruston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, John and wife Sandra of Houston, Texas, Nick of Denver, Colorado, Katie and Amanda of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kalen of Hallsville, Texas.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents John and Frankie Jo McMahon; her husbands, Lacy Stinson and Joe Richardson; and her sons, Kyle and Trey Richardson.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, John, Nick, and Kalen Richardson, Mike Kane, Keith Brasuell, Bill Cox and David Hoogland.

Mary’s family is especially grateful to everyone at the The Arbor and The Terrace of Ruston for the special care they gave to her.
