Mr. Charles E. McNeal

Mr. Charles E. McNeal, 74, was born Jan. 30, 1945, and died on Jan. 8, 2020, of natural causes.

Charles married Margaret McDonald on Jan.7, 1967. To this union, Mark Eric McNeal and Cheryl Evette McNeal was born. They each had three children which gave Charles six grandchildren.

Charles was a member of the NAACP, a member of Ruston Star Lodge, the first black candidate to run for Mayor of Ruston in 1974. Charles’ major work experiences are attributed to his career as a math instructor and associate computer analyst at Grambling College, computer science instructor, and computer center director at Mary Holmes College.

Charles retired from AT&T after 30 years of service.

A wake will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at King’s Funeral Home in Ruston.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 2020, at New Rocky Valley Baptist Church, located in Grambling, LA. Interment will be in Grambling Memorial Gardens immediately following service.

Final arrangements are entrusted to King’s Funeral Home.
