Ms. Susan Carver Clark
Ms. Susan Carver Clark was born in Ruston, LA on April 4, 1947 and passed away on April 27, 2020 also in Ruston.
Susan attended and graduated A.E. Phillips Laboratory School, Ruston High School, and Louisiana Tech University. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Beta Psi Chapter. She later went on to serve as an alumni advisor to the Alpha Chi Chapter at Louisiana Tech. Susan loved any and all sports, and “commentated” games, golf matches, horse races and various meets with friends over the phone.
Her favorite teams were The New Orleans Saints, and of course, her beloved Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. More than her love for sports was her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Susan worked in banking for numerous years prior to retiring from The Louisiana Center for the Blind following 25 years of service. Her official job title was “Transition Specialist” although she wore many, many hats.
Over her years at LCB, she made numerous lifelong friends and always shared great memories of her time there. Susan is preceded in death by her parents Walter B. and Martha Jo Brothers Carver, an infant sister, JoAnna Carver, and her former husband Craig Clark. She is survived by her sister Carolyn Carver Hightower, daughter Carrie Clark McCullin, son Wes Clark and wife Elizabeth, granddaughters Madeline McCullin and Caroline McCullin Sturdivant (Corby), grandson John Wesley Clark, great granddaughters Ava Kate McCullin, and Lydia Jane Sturdivant. She is also survived by numerous “bonus” grandchildren, extended family, and friends too numerous to count.
A private graveside service will be held due to current social distancing restrictions under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home — Ruston.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to The Louisiana Center for the Blind, 101 S. Trenton Street, Ruston, LA, 71270. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
