Roy Kelly Bird
It is with utmost hurt and sadness that the family of Roy Kelly Bird announces his passing on June 1, 2021, following a tragic accident.
Roy was born on May 19, 1960, to parents Kenneth and Peggy Bird, who precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Parrish Bird; two daughters, Marlee Bird and Morgan Latiolais (Brian); and three precious grandchildren, Rafi, Luci and Selleck. He loved his mother and father-in-law, Lyndia and T.W. Permenter, as if they were his own; one brother, Kenny Bird (Teresa), nephews Dylan Bird and Dustin Bird (Georgette and her son, Ryan.)
Roy had a very special family that he had known since they were teens, the Staples: Sammy, Lou Anne (Buck), Dana and Jimmy. He graduated Ruston High School in 1978 and he then went on to graduate at Louisiana Tech in 1983. He also graduated from the School of Radiologic Technology in Shreveport.
He loved his Dallas Cowboys and made the best Señor Roy’s Authentic Salsa, which he loved making for his friends and family. He even had his own label made, wearing a sombrero. Roy, nothing will ever be the same without your contagious smile and mischievousness.
We all love you and still can’t believe that you have left us for now ... until we meet again.
