Virginia Dupree
Virginia Rose White Dupree, 90, of Mandeville, passed away April 19, 2021 in Covington.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. and the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. May 1, 2021, at Fielding Funeral Home, W. 21st Ave. Covington, with James Mitchell, of St. Timothy on the North Shore United Methodist Church, officiating.
Virginia was born in Marksville, to Rev. C.B. White and Verda Houston White on December 28, 1930.
She went to school in Ruston. She married Joseph Thomas Dupree, Jr. on June 2, 1951, in Ruston.
She graduated from Louisiana Tech University. She worked as an Elementary School Teacher for Jefferson Parish School Board for 27 years. Virginia was a charter member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Metairie, from 1961 until 2000. She was a member of St. Timothy on the North Shore United Methodist Church from 2000-21.
She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter AS of Mandeville.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Verda Houston White and Rev. C.B. White, and her granddaughter, Brooke Ashley Crawford.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Joseph Thomas Dupree, Jr.; her daughter, Terri Dupree Ralls (Robert); her son, Bud Dupree (Sandy); her daughter, Carol Dupree Gonzales (Rick); her brother, Dr. James C. White (Donna). She had eight grandchildren, Janet Ralls Penrose (Richard), Joe Dupree (Kempy), Jamie Ralls, Jared Broussard, Teryan Broussard (Kyla), James Ralls (Virginia), Candice Crawford (Justin), and Lance Crawford. She had 11 greatgrandchildren, Stephen Penrose (Alyssa), Hannah Penrose, Jaileigh Johnson, Mikyah Crawford, Akacia Crawford, Ragan Dupree, Brighton Broussard, Parker Crawford, Bodhi Crawford, Ella Crawford, and Vincent Ralls.
Virginia loved her family and friends. Virginia loved Big Band music and she loved to dance.
