‘Tech’s in Town’ begins eight-stop tour in Baton Rouge

Louisiana Tech Athletics is set for a revamped summer tour “Tech’s in Town.” The event, sponsored by Origin Bank, will come to eight locations across four states during the month of June.

The event will feature Louisiana Tech President Jim Henderson as well as Vice President/ Director of Athletics Ryan Ivey. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from special guest Bulldog and Lady Techster head coaches.

“We are excited about the opportunity to hit the road and reach out to our strong alumni bases across the south,” said Ivey. “This will be the most locations we have ever visited as part of the summer tour, and I look forward to visiting with all of our Bulldog and Lady Techster fans.”

The tour will kick off in Baton Rouge tonight at BRQ Seafood and Barbeque before heading north for a stop in Jackson, Miss, on Friday at Rickhouse by the Manship.

After the stop in Mississippi, the excursion continues in Shreveport on June 18 at Great Raft Brewing before heading west on I-20 to the DFW Metroplex on June 20 at Whiskey Cake in Irving, Texas. Tech will then close out its swing through Texas at Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston on June 21.

The installment returns on June 25 at Underdogs in West Monroe before heading north to Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux in Little Rock, Ark. on June 27.

Tech’s in Town will conclude on June 28 at Argent Pavilion in Ruston. Food for the final event will be catered by Log Cabin Grill and Market.

“We look forward to traveling the region to connect with our loyal alumni and fans,” Henderson said. “Louisiana Tech is entering its next era of excellence and this tour will allow us to share our collective vision for the University’s future of academics, research and development, and athletics.”

Tickets are on sale now for $15 and includes food and non-alcoholic drinks with a cash bar at select locations. All events will start at 6:30 p.m.
