Ruston (9-0, 4-0 district) is still firmly at No. 4 in Class 5A in the latest prep football polls from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.
The Bearcats did recieve a first-place vote for the first time this season on the heels of another blowout win, with the team rattling off eight-straight wins since its defeat against Warren Easton to open the season – later deemed a forfeit for the Eagles and victory for Ruston due to eligibly violations – and look to have found an offensive groove.
Ruston has put up three-straight games with over 45 points, including a 49-7 drubbing of Ouachita last week.
West Monroe (8-1, 4-0 district) comes in at No. 10 in the Class 5A rankings after being unranked a week ago. John Curtis jumped from No. 6 to No. 5, while Acadiana moved from No. 9 up to No. 7 in Class 5A.
