Ruston volleyball proved once again it’s the standard in District 2-I with a second straight district title in a sweep (25-15, 25-15, 25-15) over Pineville on Tuesday.

The Bearcats, winners of four straight matches, have moved up to No. 14 in the latest Power Ratings projections at GeauxPreps. com with an overall record of 12-7 and a 3-0 mark in district play.

“Very excited and proud of the girls for securing back-to-back district titles,” Ruston head coach Amanda Cauley said. “They put in the work and played well. Now, it’s time to battle for a good spot in the power rankings and get prepared for the postseason level of play.”

Ruston secured the district crown thanks to the efforts of senior outside hitter Harper Cauley’s 13 kills, 4 digs, and a block, while sophomore middle blocker Ava Crowe delivered 12 kills and a block. Sophomore setter Baylor Cauley added 7 kills, 7 digs, 3 aces, and 27 assists in the sweep, while Mariah White and Kyndal Fobbs each finished with 5 service aces.
