Kade Luker will enter his sophomore season for Cedar Creek baseball as one of the top pitching prospects in Louisiana.
Prep Baseball Louisiana, the largest scouting/ rankings website covering high school baseball in the state, updated its Class of 2027 rankings on Wednesday afternoon and now lists Luker as the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 3 pitcher among sophomores in Louisiana. PBL also has Luker as the No. 2 uncommitted Class of 2027 pitcher in the state.
Luker burst onto the scene last spring for the Cougars with a 2.50 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 50 1/3 innings – throwing two, complete-game, nohitters along the way. He was the only freshman to make the 2-1A first team all-district team and was an LSWA All-State honorable mention in 2023.
The 2024 All-Ruston Daily Leader Pitcher of the Year, Luker also earned Louisiana Base-ball Coaches Association All-Region 2 Team honors after he helped Creek make the postseason and win the program’s first playoff game since 2019.
Luker leads the way on the 2027 rankings but there is plenty of Lincoln Parish featured on the updated ranking as Ruston’s John Parker Moak came in at No. 22 while Hunter Soto (No. 46) and Tyler Roach (No. 49) rounded out the top 50.
