Choudrant Elementary’s Ford wins award at Dixie World Series

Jessie Ford, a member of the Ruston 9U Dixie Baseball All Star team, earned some serious hardware after a standout postseason.
After the Ruston 9U Dixie All Stars finished in third at the Dixie Youth Baseball Regional World Series July 20-23, in Center, Texas, Ford was selected for the Umpires Choice/Most Recognizable Player Award, given for overall batting, fielding, and great sportsmanship. He finished with a .471 batting average through the All Star run.
Ford was selected out of close to 90 players at the event, along with eight teams from Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama.
Ford currently attends Choudrant Elementary.
The Ruston 9U Dixie Baseball All Stars baseball team was coached by Chris Shelton, Riley Rushing Jr., Matt Pullin, Shawn Atkins, and Tyrone McGlothen.
