Cedar Creek basketball continues to roll early in the 2024-25 season, with the Cougars (30) and Lady Cougars (4-1) off to their best starts since the 2021-22 season after both squads picked up road wins at Beekman Charter on Monday.
The boys won 49-40 after a long Thanksgiving break, with Cannon Robbins leading the way with 20 points, while Jake Terry added 15 points. Creek outscored Beekman 17- 13 in the first quarter and maintained a four-point lead at halftime up 29-25. A strong second half, outscoring Beekman 20-15, did just enough to win as Terry scored 8 points in the second half, including 6 points in the fourth.
“It was a stunner on the road,” Creek head coach Lance Waldron said of the win. “Beekman is a good team and a tough place to play. Proud of the entire team for their fight.”
The Cougars return to action at the Quitman High School Invitational Tournament, with matchups against Haughton on Thursday and Jonesboro-Hodge on Friday.
