Four Bulldogs earn CUSA tennis honors

After another successful season on the tennis courts, Louisiana Tech had four Bulldogs earn postseason All- Conference USA honors.

A trio of Bulldogs โ€“ Olga Bienzobas, Alexia Romero, and Tiffani Nash โ€“ earned All-Conference USA in singles while the duo of Romero and Zoie Epps received All-Conference USA accolades in doubles.

Epps was also named to the CUSA All-Freshman Team. A year after being a second team All-CUSA selection while playing at the No. 2 position in singles, Bienzobas moved up to the top spot as a senior in 2024 and elevated her game even more.

She earned first team All-CUSA honors after putting together a 19-3 dual singles record, the most wins by any player in CUSA and tied for the second most wins in program history.

Bienzobas becomes just the third Bulldog in program history to be named first team All-CUSA in singles.

Nash was voted second team All-CUSA in singles after putting together a 15- 5 dual record in the spring, a career high in victories for the senior.

She went 2-1 at No. 3, 12-4 at No. 4, and 1-0 at No. 5. The Bossier City native won 11 of her last 13 completed matches including marquee victories over Houston, UAB, and Wichita State. The 15 total wins tied for the fifth most by a CUSA player this season.

Joining her on the second team All-CUSA in singles was Romero who registered a 16-3 dual record, going 1-0 at No. 4, 1-0 at No. 5, and 14-3 at No. 6.

The 16 wins was the fourth most by a CUSA this season and tied for the eighth most in school history. Romero also teamed up with Zoie Epps to earn second team All-CUSA honors in doubles.

The duo teamed up late in the spring and proceeded to go undefeated with a 4-0 record.

They registered wins over ULM, Kansas State, Wichita State, and WKU and were in the lead in their other three matches that went unfinished.

Meanwhile, Romero became just the third Bulldog in program history to be named All-CUSA in both singles and doubles in the same season.

Epps was also named to the CUSA All-Freshman Team after recording an 11-9 dual singles record, going 2-0 at No. 4 and 9-9 at No. 5.

The Norman, Oklahoma native came on strong as the season went on, winning seven of her last 10 completed matches.

The freshman went 3-1 against CUSA competition during the regular season with wins over New Mexico State, UTEP, and Sam Houston.

She became just the second Bulldog to be named to the CUSA All-Freshman Team as well as just the second freshman Bulldog to be named All-CUSA in doubles.
