Two ACL tears. COVID-19. Coaching changes. None of it kept Isaiah Crawford from moving closer to his dream of becoming an NBA player.

Crawford, the reigning Conference USA Player and Defensive Player of the Year for Louisiana Tech, agreed to a two-way deal with the Sacramento Kings on Thursday after going undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Standing 6-foot-6 with a wingspan over 7 feet, along with positional versatility, Crawford’s measurables and proven production earned him workouta with multiple teams before the draft.

Crawford averaged 16.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2 steals, and 1.7 blocks and shot 41% from three in 2023-24. He also totaled 68 steals – fourth most in a single season in program history and was just the third player in CUSA history to have 50+ blocks and 60+ steals in a single season.

Crawford is also the only player in LA Tech history with 1,500 career points, 500 career rebounds, 200 career assists, 100 career steals, and 100 career blocks.

After his fifth and final season in Ruston, Crawford was invited to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April as one of the top seniors in the country and participated in the G League Elite Camp.

Despite playing in front of scouts, injury history may have factored into Crawford falling to the second round after tearing his left ACL in the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons.

However, Crawford’s final two seasons at Tech coming off the injuries proved to be his best – starting 64 games and averaging 15 ppg, 1.2 blocks, 2 steals, 2.5 assists, and 5.7 rebounds from 2022-2024.

Over his final two seasons at Tech, Crawford shot 41.7% from three (180 attempts) and 49% from the field.

The NBA Summer League begins July 12 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
