Anna Larr Roberson has decided to stay at Louisiana Tech for a fifth and final season after weighing the decision over the last four months.

One last ride.

Anna Larr Roberson, a two-time All-Conference selection and lifelong Lincoln Parish talent, has elected to return to the Louisiana Tech women’s basketball team for a fifth and final season, a team source confirmed Monday.

Roberson, who battled multiple injuries last season, was given wellearned personal time from head coach Brooke Stoehr to decide her next chapter since the season ended March 16 against Arkansas in the WNIT.

Stoehr, who’s been with Roberson every step of the way in college, is excited for her to go out on her own terms.

“Really excited to have her back,” Stoehr said. “ As a former player, I’m just excited for her to be able to write her story and be able to have another year. As former players, we all would have loved to have one more game and one more season. And at the end of the day, she brings a great deal of leadership and experience to our team.”

Roberson has played in 105 games with 76 starts for Tech, averaging 11.6 points and 7 rebounds for her career. She’s led the Lady Techsters in rebounding every single year of her career.

Despite missing nine games last season, Roberson was named second team All-Conference USA and still finished second on the team in scoring (12.6 points per game) and first in rebounds yet again at 6.6 in 23 games.

“Four years of college athletics is a long time and with so many players taking that COVID-year, navigating that has been a new challenge,” Stoehr said. “And with that, I think it was frustrating for her, and would be for anyone, to go through all of that. But she has really high expectations for herself. And we talked about how this situation last year will help her in the future. She’s come back with a mission and is going to be a big part of what we do next season.”

Roberson scored in double figures in 15 games last season, including seven of her last nine games.

Entering the 2023-24 season, Roberson is No. 34 in career points (1,246) and will be one of two seniors for the Lady Techsters, along with Salma Bates.
