Ruston remains No. 4 in LSWA prep poll

Ruston remains the No. 4 team in Class 5A after the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association prep football poll was released Monday.

The Bearcats opened district play with a 35-28 win over Alexandria Senior High last week, improving to 6-0 on the season. It's the best start to a season the Bearcats have had over the last decade. Ruston will look to keep that streak alive as it continues district play when it hosts Pineville on Friday.

The rest of the top four in Class 5A remained the same, as Edna Karr, Destrehan, and Zachary all won their respective games last week. John Curtis dropped from No. 5 to No. 10 after losing its second game of the season.
