The State Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing its investigation into the early morning house fire here Tuesday that claimed the life of a Jonesboro resident.
Ruston fire officials say the investigation into a Monday evening blaze that destroyed a home on East Kentucky Avenue may be slow going partially because of the weather.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a man and woman for conspiring to steal and burn the woman’s vehicle. The vehicle was found in Lincoln Parish.
DUBACH — A Saturday morning fire destroyed the worship center, sound room, office space and nursery at Mineral Spring Baptist Church while the church’s fellowship hall also received smoke damage.

Two people escaped injury when this fire broke out at a residence on Barksdale Street on Tuesday morning. Units from the Ruston Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after 9 a.m.
