MONROE — Following last week’s loss to top-ranked and defending Class 5A state champion Acadiana, Ruston High School head football coach Jerrod Baugh told his team he hoped they could learn from the little things he felt cost them that game.
Ruston High School’s cross country teams made it a clean sweep of District 2-5A Tuesday, taking both the boys and girls titles at the district championships held at Lincoln Parish Park.
The Ruston High School Bearcats will be trying to make it six straight wins over Ouachita Parish as the Bearcats play at The Lions’ Den starting at 7 p.m. today in Monroe.
His legend began on the football fields of Lincoln and Ruston High Schools before continuing at Louisiana Tech and the NFL, so it was only fitting his final sendoff was held at Joe Aillet Stadium.
He was Ruston’s gentle giant, impacting lives locally as hard as the hits he made as a Ruston Bearcat, Louisiana Tech Bulldog and NFL Hall of Fame defensive end.
