Congresswoman Julia Letlow was in Jackson Parish this week to listen to the needs of the constituents in a town hall meeting. When asked about the common pleas of residents in the rural areas of the district, Jackson Parish specifically, she indicated that the common request from small businesses, farmers, forestry, oil and gas producers are all the same: less government and more opportunities to accomplish what each respective business does so well, in addition to work and produce the products that they have spent a lifetime honing the skills to utilize in order to be successful. The other common need that most constituents requested is an opportunity to apply for federal grant funding that is vital to rural areas, especially in issues of infrastructure, housing, and other urban development.
