The North Central Louisiana Arts Council recently hosted its annual meeting at Ruston’s Historic Fire Station. NCLAC President Gary Faulkner presided over the event which included an overview of the year’s programming from Director Marcie Nelson as well as the presentation of the following awards: Artist of the Year – Marcus Roach, Patron of the Year – Christiane Drieling and Emily Ezell – Board Member of the Year. Members enjoyed delicious refreshments as part of the fellowship celebrating a tremendously successful year.

Gary Stringer will give an illustrated talk on a wooly mammoth tusk that was excavated from a West Texas gravel pit on Thursday, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. in the Union Museum of History and Art — Discovery Place, 211 N. Main Street, in Farmerville. Admission is free.
