“Homemade Hugs” once again returned to the Louisiana Tech University to provide hugs, grab-n-go treats and a little splash of God’s love for students as they passed through Centennial Plaza. Trish Albritton returned with the group’s mascot, Jinx the Retriever, and Sky, a rescue pup, while Skip Russell brought Stormy the dwarf horse and Bill Sanderson added Lillie the goat. In addition, Kay King reports 6 kittens found homes with different Tech students. The event was another success with the students already anticipating the group’s return May 16 to offer encouragement and support during finals week.

In 2016, New York Police Department ( NYPD) officers brought the body of a small dog to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) Hospital. The dog had allegedly been killed by her owner’s boyfriend in a dispute over who should walk the dog.
