The Grambling Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., recently teamed up with other community partners to host an event focused on our right as citizens to vote. The Delta Iota Chapter, the City of Grambling, and the Grambling Branch of the NAACP joined the members of Delta Sigma Theta to present a Voter Education Forum and Legislative update. The event featured Louisiana State Rep. District 11 Rashid Young and District Attorney John F. Belton (right).
After more property assessment appeals were filed in Lincoln Parish this year than any other time in recent memory, the police jury on Tuesday sided with Assessor Billy McBride over the appellates and certified the property rolls, sending them to the state tax commission for a final ruling.
