October is a busy time for DART staff and volunteers. The only DART-run fundraiser will be held on Thursday. The 21st Annual Radiothon goal is $ 80,000, which is essential to continue the level of services that DART provides for survivors and their children.
The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors ( LSLBC) generously contributed $275,000 to the Construction Engineering Technology program at Louisiana Tech University. Funding will be used to improve classroom and lab spaces with construction slated to begin next summer.
I haven’t officially been diagnosed with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), though I suspect I do have bouts with it after my experiences of being in southwest Louisiana during Hurricane Laura on Aug. 27 of 2020.

After more property assessment appeals were filed in Lincoln Parish this year than any other time in recent memory, the police jury on Tuesday sided with Assessor Billy McBride over the appellates and certified the property rolls, sending them to the state tax commission for a final ruling.
